Ü Blue // Jeice the Space Australien Review  EARLY ACCESS REVIEW I'm pleased to announce that Ü Blue has given me an exclusive look at their newest single "Jeice the Space Australien". This track will be on their sophomore EP, set to release in October.  Fans of Ü Blue will be gratified with this song, as it keeps their experimental post-hardcore sound that tends to border on funk and jazz. I really have to give credit to the band on this EP already as I've noticed that their song writing skills have improved. Not only is the song structures more clean, the choruses have become more distinct and catchy.  Set to be released everywhere tomorrow, Jeice the Space Australien is a scorching reminder to me that this band is criminally underrated, yet bleeding with talent. The production and mixing has stepped up for the EP which does justice to their sound. This song is a more laid back track with an emotional chorus, which I have come to recognize the b

October Albums

Anticipated Albums for October  Wolf & Bear - Everything is Going Grey  Release: October 3rd One of my most anticipated releases of the year, these guys are one of the best bands on Blue Swans Records. The song above is honestly my favorite song of the year. The cleans are so infectious. I headbang and dance to this song, even against my own free will. This is going to be their first LP and such a stellar debut release for sure. Thousand Below - The Love You Let Close Release Date: October 6th While this song is kinda repetitive, it really shows off what the band is capable of. Great energy and catchy choruses. The other singles also show they can write slower songs too. I would love to hear them live because I can only imagine it would be great to sing along with. Rise is lucky they picked this band up. Johari - Terra Release Date: October 6th Johari is such an interesting band. They are basically beautiful metal is what I would c

The Venus De Melos Fatty Release Date: August 1st, 2016 Release Date:  1. V 2. Fatty 3. Trip  4. Hollow 5. Sol Soul  6. Fuego 7. Astral 8. Aloha 9. Beauty 10. Statum 11. Piece of Mind 12. You're Dead to Me -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The Aphrodite of Melody", is a math rock band from New York that specializes in showing you sounds you didn't know guitars could make. Mikhail Korkitsev stated some of his influences being Hail the Sun, The Fall of Troy, and The Mars Volta. Bands I've totally come to love. He pieces together a plethora of sounds from each of those bands and creates a math rock puzzle of groovy proportions.  Fatty:   Starting the album off right, Fatty grooves its way into my heart. First released on April 20th, 2013. This song was re-released onto the album and even had the album named after it. What an honor right? F

The Contortionist - Clairvoyant Review

Image
The Contortionist - Clairvoyant  Released - September 15th, 2017 ------------------------------------------------------------- Formed in 2007, The Contortionist has come a long way from their early deathcore sound. It wasn't until 2010 that they had released their first studio album. While this wasn't exactly The Contortionist we have come to love today, it built the platform for the band to enhance their style. To be more technical, creative, and melodic. As seen on 2014's Language.  Long gone are the screams and fast paced shreds. Now we are left with atmospheric vocals and beautiful guitar riffs. But honestly is this a bad thing? Maybe to hardcore fans who loved their early sound. But Language was the band evolving and growing. Clairvoyant is the product of that growth. Shown above, The Contortionist's first single, Reimagined, takes a page from Language and puts the vocals on steroids. So strong yet beautiful. The atmosphere is infectious.

Adventurer - Sacred Grove Review

Adventurer - Sacred Grove  Release Date: September 8th, 2017 Blue Swan Records  Tracklist: 1. Oil Ocean 2. Broke 3. Watermelon & Rum 4. Caught Up in a Lie 5. Turning Back the Clock 6. Interlude 7. Cold Blooded 8. Wolf Dr. 9. Don't Forget About Me 10. Galaxy God --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------      I ended up putting this album in my last post, talking about albums I was anticipating in September. This may have been the one I was most looking forward to. It's been 3 years since Adventurer has put out their own release. They split an EP with Wolf&Bear in 2016, another amazing band. So once they announced this release, I was definitely hyped. Starting off this album, one of the best album openers I've heard, Oil Ocean is two and a half minutes of pure emotion. The groovy beginning and ending with a powerful chorus in between just really kick

Bandcamp Gem #1

Bandcamp Gems #1 Welcome to my new segment, Bandcamp Gems. Here I will breakdown a band I found from Bandcamp that I felt was being robbed of attention. At the bottom will be their links. Enjoy! Band: Polterguise       This band inspired me to make this segment. After I found out they weren't on Spotify or even Youtube for the most part, I had seriously felt like I found a gem on Bandcamp.  Genre: Post-hardcore On the surface these guys are labeled as post-hardcore but its honestly more than that. They have a slightly groovy sound with a progressive tint in there. Not to mention the songs are acoustic. So to put it all together, you've got a groovy acoustic progressive post-hardcore band. Favorite Song: Sailor's Grave  I  love this song so much honestly. Putting this song as track number one was real smart. Right out of the gate, the intense strumming riff just hooks me in. The ups and downs of the melodies was perfect. Vocals were done as good as ca
